Helicopter Flight Training That Leads to a Job
Midland Helicopters provides top quality helicopter flight training for everyone—from private helicopter flying lessons for beginners to advanced helicopter pilot programs for future professionals. For about $85,000 of flight time, we take you from zero experience to 300 hours of flying, including:
- Private Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter certificate
- Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft-Helicopter certificate
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) helicopter rating
Training is conducted in our well-maintained Robinson R22 helicopters. After successfully completing our helicopter pilot training program and meeting our insurance requirements, you can step directly into a flying job with us.

We offer free housing for bachelor students who fly at least 20 hours per month in South Florida—where you can fly nearly every day of the year. If you can’t relocate to Florida, we can often keep you in your current job and bring an R22 to your location, allowing you to build time close to home.

Yes. We provide an online ground school program specifically for rotorcraft. You can study regulations, aerodynamics, weather, navigation, and exam material from home, then complete your helicopter flight lessons in our training helicopters at Midland or other locations.
